"Scream and shout"

New UK Funky track by ´DJ Zinc featuring Ms Dynamite´ called ´Wile out´. It will be released on February, 8th. Enjoy...

"Attention, greatest thread ever"

Found on the Serato Scratch Live Forum!!! Please help him!!

"I normally don't ask advice on public forums but figured I'd come to my fellow Scratch Live users for help this time.
I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on
me. The usual signs are phone rings, but if I answer, the caller hangs up.
My wife has been going out with “the girls” a lot recently, although
when I ask their names she always says, “Just some friends from work,
you don’t know them..”
I always try to stay awake to look out for her coming home, but I
usually fall asleep. Anyway, I have never approached the subject with
my wife. I think deep down I just didn’t want to know the truth, but
last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.
Around midnight, I decided to hide behind some records I have stored in my garage
so I could get a good view of the whole street when she arrived home
from a night out with “the girls”. When she got out of the car she
was buttoning up her blouse, which was open, and she took her panties
out of her purse and slipped them on.
It was at that moment, crouched behind some of my old LP's, that I noticed some water and dampness in the covers, affecting pretty much all of the bottom row and making the covers look wrinkled.
Is this something I can fix myself or should I just accept that the LP's are fucked?

cheers,
nser"

"Roll with the flavor"

Anthony Peaks better known as Apache died on January 22, after a protracted illness. He was an original member of the ´Flavor Unit´ along with Queen Latifah and Naughty by Nature.
His biggest success in his musical career was his ´92 single "Gangsta Bitch" produced by A Tribe Called Quest, which went to #67 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on the Hot Rap Singles. Apache scored the underground hit "Gangsta Bitch" without the use of radio or video airplay.

Author and Hip Hop scholar Adisa Banjoko: "I think its hard for the youngsters of today generation of Hip Hop to understand the impact an artist like Apache had on their ability to exist. He knew how to be lyriclly hard and still have fun on the mic. He defined himself as a rapper, but was not defined by title."

Rest in peace

"Surprised purists part.II"

Music is a huge influence in the design and overall aesthetic of OBEY Giant and OBEY Clothing since it’s inception in 1989. In 2007 OBEY released it`s fourth mixtape installment featuring DJ A-Trak.
Trizzy took rap acapellas and house/ elektro tracks and mixed them together while he chop up parts of the rap tracks and beef up drums here and there. Next thing you know he had 15 of these remixes and spent weeks assembling the mix itself. OBEY mixed up a couple visual styles in the same spirit as the music. They pulled from A-Trak's love of subversive animals and poppy colors and mixed it with an electro/disco version of his iconic OBEY aesthetics. The result was something unique, but distinctly A-Trak/Obey.

Now here`s the first track from the forthcoming ´Dirty South Dance Vol.2´ mixtape dropping in March...Enjoy...

"Lot`s of lovin`"

There was a time, when music, especially Rap music, made me feel like I had butterflies in my stomach. One example for this phenomen was the 1994 album from ´Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth´ called ´The Main Ingredient´. It was and still is soulful and funky!!!
Here is one of my favorite tracks.

“All The Places” is a archetypal example. It starts with the strings, fit to lift the hairs at the nape of your neck. Chills when the beat drops…a buttery guitar loop winding around the cavernous drums, a silky, swarming bass line teeming around the drums and guitar, CL’s raps effortlessly gliding over Rock’s rhythm. Celestial vocals chime in every few bars, most noticeably on the chorus, where it joins one of the many Biz Markie vocal samples on the album. What’s most astounding about Pete Rockerfeller’s work here is that virtually all of these musical elements are lifted from the first 30 seconds of Donald Byrd’s “Places and Spaces.” You can glean Pete’s love for the beat, by the way he lets the instrumental ride for nearly a minute after CL’s verse concludes. You have to bob your head.

Pete took the sample from Donald Byrds much-lauded album ´Places and spaces´. It is the first track on the B-Side of the vinyl release on the famous ´Blue Note´ label.
So enjoy history...

"Ipod rotation material"

This one is from last summer, but it is still in rotation on my ipod. Great tracks and a nice mix from my man Chris Read. Below is his explanation of the mix:

"I know what you're thinking, the last thing world needs right now is yet anotherMichael Jackson tribute mixtape? Believe me, I'm pretty much of the same opinion and I didn't take the decision to do this lightly, but the flood of (in too many cases) pretty half baked tribute mixes, radio shows, podcasts over the past week kind of got under my skin. It seemed almost as though people were putting more effort into being the first to get something out than they were into a making decent job of it. I'm of the view that if you're going to mark somebody's life's work, the least you can do is pay some respect by putting some proper work into it.
So that's what I did. Just over a week after Michael's passing, I'm pleased to present what I've (humbly) called THE LEGACY: World's Greatest Jackson Tribute Mix! -60 minutes, 45 tracks, featuring a selection of Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5's original works, edits, acapellas and demos accompanied by records that have sampled them, cover versions, tributes and remixes from the likes of Dwele, Dilla, DJ Spinna and Ian Brown amongst others. All that laced with original interviews and some heavy edits. It's been a labour of love, but I'm feeling like it was worth it."
