Wenn es am 24ten September endlich wieder Zeit für das monatliche REWIND-Spektakel ist, dürft ihr euch dieses mal noch mehr als sonst freuen! Eure beiden Hosts DANNY & JANATIC haben ein ganz besonderes Highlight an Land gezogen: DJ PASSION aus Stuttgart. Die eine Hälfte des Produzenten Duos „BASS ILL EURO“ (zusammen mit Schowi) ist nicht nur für seine zahlreichen Remixes & Produktionen (u.a. für Jan Delay & Pitbull) bekannt, sondern auch für seine unzähligen Liveshows rund um den Globus. So spielte er z.B. in Clubs wie dem M1NT (Shanghai), Zero Zero (Rio De Janeiro) oder Justo (Moscow). Zudem war er kürzlich noch für die Aftershowparty des Bundesvision-Songcontests und der Echo-Verleihung zuständig.

Heute fliegt er direkt zu uns und wird so zusammen mit den beiden Schnitzelkidz Danny & Janatic für eine weitere, unvergessliche Rewind-Nacht im A.R.M. sorgen.

New stuff from Top Billin.

We arranged this remix competition a while back and found some great talent and there’s was one well made disco-house remix by a young producer called Lenno, that topped all others. Little did we know Lenno was 15 at the time he entered the remix competition, taking it home.

Now Lenno has turned 16 and is ready with his debut ep, two tracks of sizzling disco-

flavoured house music, better produced than most of the stuff out there: Lenno likes to chop

up samples and use many different cuts from many sources on 1 track. Microsamples, like

Phonat does it, Lenno says. His live performances are exactly what his release promises, full of energy and enough sampling to make you go whooomph. Next up for Lenno is to graduate from junior high school, work on remixes and see how many ep’s he can smash out before the average age of a house producer that’s 25.

Portugal's Kuduro kings Buraka Som Sistema are back with a banger of a single. The track's maddeningly catchy 'BaBaBa' hook originated when the group were in Rangel 'City' in Luanda, Angola, visiting some of their favourite Kuduro producers including DJ Znobia. As Buraka's Kalaf Ângelo remembers, "He played us one of his tracks featuring Nacobeta, a local MC, where he used this hook and it immediately got our attention! We then used it in some of our early shows and the crowd loved it because of its simplicity and raw energy. While working on the new album, the beat we produced with Stereotyp had that same energy so it made perfect sense to bring it back for the chorus and close the cycle."

João Barbosa aka J-WOW elaborates on the references behind the track: "This is how we see club music and this is what we like to hear when we're out late at night. We wanted to capture the (not so) classic kind of sing-a-long vocal club melody and smash it against the most genre-bending futuristic instrumental we could think of. It's not House, it's not Dubstep, it's not Techno and it's not even Kuduro."

'Hangover (BaBaBa)' is out on June 6th on Buraka's home label Enchufada and the package will include remixes from Swedish house hero Tony Senghore and newer names Swick and Oui' Wack
