Bass ill Streisand

Hossa!

A few hours ago we've found a nice new remix from our Bass ill Euro dudes in our email inbox. They remixed A-Traks & Armands "Barbra Streisand"-one of the currently most hyped songs. Their version also features B.i.E.'s partner in crime Mister Santos. Chizzeck it!

"I go to work"

Adam Michael Goldstein (March 30, 1973 – August 28, 2009) was an American club DJ and musician better known as DJ AM. On August 28th, 2009 the DJ world just lost one of its brightest shining stars. We also lost a phenomenal DJ. Whenever a purist naysayer tried to doubt him, I’d reply: “AM’s career is where it is for a reason.” My man worked hard. I remember an old (admittedly low-fi) version of what was probably his first website. It had the AC/DC-inspired logo and when your mouse hovered over a button it played the classic Kool Moe Dee sample: “I go to WORK!” That exemplified 2 sides of AM: 1) he wasn’t a new jack, he loved the old school, and 2) literally, he worked his ass off! For some reason, in the DJ-geek community AM wasn’t necessarily regarded as a turntablist; maybe because he didn’t do the DMC’s, maybe because he played jiggy clubs. But watch any DJ that used to do the DMC’s play in a regular club and watch AM spin, I guarantee you that Adam freaked his records more. Playing those glitzy Hollywood and Las Vegas clubs is not easy, trust me. This guy was DJ’ing in a hostile territory and managed to play the most fast-paced, scratch-happy, genre-hopping sets you could find. He could have easily settled for spinning the hits, but he used to tell me: “I get bored”. So he set the bar higher for himself and never stopped striving. He genuinely loved music and DJing. (DJ A-Trak remembering DJ AM)

Enjoy this great Tribute Mix by Anthony D from Atlanta, Georgia. Luv it...

"aNYway"

The trendsetting Brooklyn label Fool´s Gold was founded in 2007 by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs and quickly established itself with a non-stop series of singles, introducing artists like Kid Sister and Kid Cudi to the world and being dubbed an "indie innovator" by Billboard and a "tastemaker label" by the New York Times.

Duck Sauce is a musical collaboration between deejay heroes A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, melding the spirit of classic disco house with updated production thump and clever new twists - think modern-day versions of DJ classics from labels like Roule, or Armand's own beloved mid-90s catalog.

The duo teamed up for the express purpose of making instantly addictive club anthems, tunes they would want to play out themselves. And it's worked! DJs around the world have been playing and charting their smash "aNYway" since the summer and salivating for the next batch of web footed tunes from the duo...

"Surprised purists part.II"

Music is a huge influence in the design and overall aesthetic of OBEY Giant and OBEY Clothing since it’s inception in 1989. In 2007 OBEY released it`s fourth mixtape installment featuring DJ A-Trak.
Trizzy took rap acapellas and house/ elektro tracks and mixed them together while he chop up parts of the rap tracks and beef up drums here and there. Next thing you know he had 15 of these remixes and spent weeks assembling the mix itself. OBEY mixed up a couple visual styles in the same spirit as the music. They pulled from A-Trak's love of subversive animals and poppy colors and mixed it with an electro/disco version of his iconic OBEY aesthetics. The result was something unique, but distinctly A-Trak/Obey.
(thanks to spidermike from www.urbanindustry.blogspot.com)

Now here`s the first track from the forthcoming ´Dirty South Dance Vol.2´ mixtape dropping in March...Enjoy...
