ALL MY BELOVED BIG FAT MONSTER BEATS PARTY

This saturday!!! November, 27th @ A.R.M., Kassel

“You hear the bass and you say whoa!!!”

I wear my sunglasses in the Vorweihnachtszeit - do you!?

Who sampled

We all love the track `Barbra Streisand` by Duck Sauce. They took the sample from Boney Ms hit single `Gotta Go Home` from 1979. Well, `Gotta Go Home` is another cover song. The song is called "Hallo Bimmelbahn" by Nighttrain from 1973. It was written and composed by Heinz Huth, Jürgen Huth and Michael Holm. Nighttrain was a band from Berlin, Germany, consisting of brothers Heinz and Jürgen Huth. The Nighttrain version doesn't have the sax riffs though, so they obviously come from Julie Driscoll's `Tramp` from 1967. The songwriters for `Tramp` are Jimmy McCracklin & Lowell Fulsom. `Tramp` was recorded in 1967 by other artists too, most notably Otis & Carla (Redding & Thomas) and Fulsom himself. Fulsom's own version doesn't have the sax riffs but Otis' does... So there's now two possibilities where the sax riffs come from: the Otis or Driscoll version. `Tramp` was also covered by Salt 'N Pepa in 1986 on their debut album and used a little while later as the b-side to their huge hit `Push It`. Their version has the sax riffs too. So enjoy...

Bass ill Streisand

Hossa!

A few hours ago we've found a nice new remix from our Bass ill Euro dudes in our email inbox. They remixed A-Traks & Armands "Barbra Streisand"-one of the currently most hyped songs. Their version also features B.i.E.'s partner in crime Mister Santos. Chizzeck it!

"Man, that´s perfect. I love DUCK SAUCE!"

New release by supergroup Duck Sauce consisting of Armand Van Helden and A-Trak. This one is a remix produced by O-God. This cat took the original Boney M sample and mixed it with some snippets from when A-Trak dropped it live @ WMC in Miami this year. Enjoy...

"aNYway"

The trendsetting Brooklyn label Fool´s Gold was founded in 2007 by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs and quickly established itself with a non-stop series of singles, introducing artists like Kid Sister and Kid Cudi to the world and being dubbed an "indie innovator" by Billboard and a "tastemaker label" by the New York Times.

Duck Sauce is a musical collaboration between deejay heroes A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, melding the spirit of classic disco house with updated production thump and clever new twists - think modern-day versions of DJ classics from labels like Roule, or Armand's own beloved mid-90s catalog.

The duo teamed up for the express purpose of making instantly addictive club anthems, tunes they would want to play out themselves. And it's worked! DJs around the world have been playing and charting their smash "aNYway" since the summer and salivating for the next batch of web footed tunes from the duo...
